Los Angeles-based interior designer Alexandra Rae has designed beautiful homes for clients throughout the country. Her design perspective is the result of many years in the fields of art and design. "I think having a strong foundation in art history, classicism and modernism, is key to adapting and refreshing these influences for our lifestyle today." She loves to mix the high and low, vintage and new, modern and antique, defining a style that is timeless, liveable and always grounded in good design. "I appreciate that even my most traditional clients love elements of the unexpected; yet I understand how to update a space without becoming too trendy. I'm much more interested in helping clients create a collection of furniture and art, helping them lay down the first of many layers that will evolve into a home."
She began her career as a strategic marketing planner at a large advertising agency, working on dozens of Fortune 500 advertising campaigns. Combining her fine art background and love of design, she acquired a second degree and became an advertising art director. Eventually, she realized her greatest passion was in art directing the interiors of friends' homes and pursued another degree, this time in interior design, where she has been blissfully working ever since.
Her experience planning multi-million dollar marketing campaigns helps her immensely in managing design projects. She knows what it takes to complete projects on time and within budget. Above all, she is passionate about her work.
